Have you ever had that light bulb moment? You know the one, you’ll be taking the bus to work, waiting for a friend in a bar or in the middle of a shower when that amazing idea comes to you which you just know will make a great business. Unfortunately only a very, very small percentage of us actually take this idea, ride with it and turn it into a business, allowing just another idea to find its way into the graveyard of great ideas.
The problem with this, is that if you don’t do it, someone else will and you can bet your bottom dollar that someone thought of Uber before Uber and Facebook before Facebook, but they did nothing about it and they are now probably working 9-5 whilst these companies take over the world. If you have a business idea then here is what you need to do to turn it into a reality.
Research, Research, Research
You need to start with as much research as is humanly possible, you need to research the industry which you are heading in to, who has made the most successful business and why. Next you need to look at the sales chain, customer trends and identify who will be buying your product. This time is valuable in order to conduct your research as you will not have the opportunity to spend as much time once you have started your business.
Map it Out
The next step is to take some time to sit down and consider all angles of your business, what is your product? How will you make it? Where will you sell it? Who to? How will it make money? These are the key questions for consideration when it comes to your business model and it will be important that you take the time to think about it.
Get Some Money
The key to all successful businesses is their finances and you need to ensure that you have sufficient money in place, before launching your company. There are man ways to get money to get your business off the ground, you could take out a bank loan, invest your savings, seek investment or take advantage of grants and bursaries which are out there to help new business. Avoid involving too much of your personal finances as this can get confusing but make sure that you fight tooth and nail for every dollar which you can get your hands on.
Just Do It
The final piece of the puzzle is just doing it an hitting the green light on your business, you could spend month after month trying to ensure that you have the perfect foundation for success but in truth, you can never truly achieve this. Start selling as soon as you ca, learn from your mistakes along the way and gain the experience of being in business, in order to turn your idea into a successful enterprise.
